Timeline

You fall faster and faster
until you can fall no faster;
that's about when you hit.

At this speed,
most things are liquid.
Certainly that means you.

The process continues
until the subject meets a solid;
tests have shown that solids are still.

Solids stop your fall
with a splatter.
(But solids do fall, too.)
